HOT NEWS: The amazing Damarys Farrés will come to teach the advanced level in Cambridge on the following Sundays:
Sunday October 5th
Sunday November 9th
Sunday November 16th
Damarys Farrés is the Director of London’s Cuban School of Arts. As a graduate from Cuba’s National Ballet School, with a UNEAC diploma in Arts Management and a BA (Hons) in dance studies, Damarys is a trained dancer, choreographer, teacher, promoter and researcher of the Cuban and Afro-Cuban culture dance forms and rhythms. These include Salsa, Son, Rumba, Yoruba, Bantu, Arara and Reggaeton among other genres. She was the first female Cuban artist to provide structured Cuban dance rhythm courses in the UK. She was the first solo Cuban Artist to organise independent Cuban cultural events involving Cuban artists in the UK. Her passion for her culture and Cuban dance, especially traditional and Afro-Cuban dance, are her main motive for founding The Cuban School of Arts – The Home of Cuban Culture and Arts in the UK.
Damarys is highly acclaimed in UK as well as worldwide for her charisma and her infectious energy. She is renowned for her knowledge and passion for the Cuban and Afro-Cuban culture, dance forms and her femininity. She has a unique dancing style, choreography, artistic direction and teaching, which owes much to her broad background in dance. This includes classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, reggaetton, traditional and popular Cuban styles, folk dances, as well as other Latin, modern and Afro-Cuban dances.
Damarys continues integrating her work at every trip to Cuba. She takes her experiences and promotes them everywhere she goes. Her passion and love for Cuban culture and all kinds of dance are manifested in everything she does.
It is an absolute privilege to have her teach in Cambridge, so we hope to see many of you at Adélie Studios on that occasion!

🚨 New WhatsApp group: for the latest news and updates, please join our WhatsApp group here! Our Mighty Network (= private network) will be shut down due to a change in their T&Cs. Our facebook group and facebook page, as well as DJSacha’s FB profile, are still active and we still post updates there, but facebook is getting increasingly plagued with adverts and fake news, so we don’t recommend it as a reliable way to keep in touch with our community. Alternatively, you can join our WhatsApp group or join our Meetup group, as we will add news and updates to these groups too. Please note that if you prefer email, Meetup is the best option for now, as group posts get resent as emails. So to summarise, you can now get our new and updates with: (1) this website – but you need to visit often to make sure that you don’t miss anything, (2) our facebook group/page/profile – not recommended as information gets lost in the noise, (3) WhatsApp – best option for immediate notifications, (4) Meetup – best option for emails. Please feel free to contact us if you have any question!

Why our salsa classes are the best:
The classes are about you, not about us: we care about helping you to progress with your dancing in a safe, fun and friendly environment.
You progress at your own rhythm, no competition/no pressure, you do it for your own personal growth and enjoyment – it is about discovering your inner dancer while having pleasure in the practice and making new friends in the process!
Quality everywhere, no compromise on anything. Our teachers are trained with referenced professional masters and have full liability insurance. We play music on a high quality sound system and the venue is well ventilated: we care about your comfort.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any question!
Kellie started training with Sacha in early 2013 and has since attended many international festivals and training camps, including RuedaFest, SBK and more. Her explanations are superclear, she is a mover with an amazing positive energy and her footwork choreographies have made a name for themselves. She is also the group's master decorator and cake-maker. (Yum!)
Rachel
Salsa Instructor
Rachel joined the group in 2017 after being intrigued by the music and the dance at one of our street demos. With an extensive background in ballet dancing since childhood, the raise in her salsa dancing abilities has been absolutely stellar! For the past couple of years she has been following intensive AfroCuban training as one of Luanda Pau's Performance Group students. As a former school teacher, her teaching style is patient, supportive and loads of fun!
